This component is essential when installing windows or doors in insulated wall systems.

Purpose & function

  • Directs rainwater away from façade and wall joints

  • Protects lower part of window/door opening from moisture exposure

  • Prevents water leakage into insulation layer

  • Improves durability of wall assembly and openings

Application

    • Opening width

    • Wall structure

    • Installation method

Installation Guidelines

  • Ensure proper slope away from the building

  • Seal connection between sill and window/door frame using silicone

  • Fix sill mechanically using screws

  • Ensure tight fit to avoid water ingress under sill

  • Align with insulation layer and external finish

Common mistakes to avoid:

  • Installing without slope

  • No silicone sealing to frame

  • Wrong width selection

  • No side preparation (open ends → leaks)

  • Direct fixing without allowing proper drainage path
